Housing :
Many areas of the City are seeing new construction designed to suit any lifestyle. New condominiums are being built along both Fostoria Country Club (Fairway Estates) and Loudon Meadows (Loudon Meadows) golf courses. Fairway Estates is also offering lots for construction of single family homes as well. New condominiums have also been constructed on the north side of Fostoria as well, and development continues in the area of Fostoria High School on the west side of the community.

Education :
Although Fostoria is a small community of 15,000 it has both a public and parochial school system featuring classes and services Pre-K through 12.

Fostoria Community Schools have a current enrollment of approximately 2,500 students. The district is comprised of six buildings plus the Administration Building . The Administration Building is located at 500 Parkway Drive.

Terra Community College
TERRA COMMUNITY COLLEGE is a two-year accredited, state-supported, commuter college located twenty-three miles north of Fostoria in Fremont, Ohio. It has a long history of service to the community and of accomplishing its mission of providing students with the opportunity for quality learning experiences that are both accessible and affordable.
Terra offers many options for those who desire to take one course or a full curriculum leading to an Associate Degree in Applied Business, Applied Science, Arts, Individualized Study, Science or Technical Studies or the first two years of a bachelor's degree. Students who wish to continue their education may transfer credits to a four-year college or university.

The City of Fostoria has 8 parks including the Buckley Street Courts (featuring tennis and basketball), the Community Water park, with a fantastic pool and waterslide and Meadowlark Park, which hosts Junior Baseball, softball and an outdoor amphitheater.
The City also boasts 6 reservoirs which offer fishing, boating and scenic walking trails.

Culture
Fostoria is alive with a diverse population and celebrates it's diversity as well as its rich history. Each year the city is home to a Railroad Festival, an exciting Fourth of July celebration, and a Latino Festival.
The Fostoria Community Arts Council hosts children's art classes, concerts in the park and art exhibits while the Fostoria Historical Museum is available by appointment for personal tours.
