In 1854, the villages of Rome and Risdon were united by Charles Foster, forming the community of Fostoria. The City of Fostoria is named after Charles Foster who was the founding father of our town.

Our community of approximately 14,000 is situated in northwestern
Ohio on the county line separating Seneca, Hancock, and Wood counties.

Transportation to these cities and more are easily accessible from six state and
U.S. highways. We are also the home of the Fostoria Metro Airport and Amtrak station.

The school system, within the city limits of
Fostoria, offers four public
grade schools, one parochial grade school, one public middle school
accommodating the 6th, 7th and 8th grades, one public high school, and one parochial high school.

In addition, Fostoria is accessible to Bowling Green State University
(Bowling Green, Ohio—26 miles), Heidelberg College (Tiffin, Ohio—13 miles), Owens Community College (Findlay, Ohio—14 miles), Terra Community College (Fremont, Ohio—20 miles), Tiffin University (Tiffin, Ohio—13 miles), and The University of Findlay (Findlay, Ohio—14 miles).
